This specialist book investigates issues related with remote monitoring of EKG signals over commercial wireless sensor networks under various network conditions. The popular wireless sensor networks with default configurations were found to be unable to support transmission of a good quality EKG signal. To improve the quality of EKG signals over the wireless sensors, some open source solutions were tested to improve end-to-end transmission and remote display of the EKG signal.
