The aim of this book is to present the clinical and radiographic assessment of the effect of Omega-3 fatty acids, as an adjunctive therapy in management of chronic periodontitis in postmenopausal osteoporotic females. The patients were divided into 2 groups: the control group received Rutin and vitamin C once daily. The Omega-3 group received Rutin and vitamin C once daily in addition to Omega-3 once daily too. Clinical assessment was done by measuring the plaque index (PI), bleeding on probing index (BOP), pocket depth (PD) and clinical attachment level (CAL)at baseline before administration of the different medications and performing scaling and root planing (baseline) and after 6 and 9 months intervals. In addition assessing of the radiographic linear and density measurements was done. It can be concluded that the use of Omega-3 is a beneficial nutritional supplementation in chronic p.
